I don't know if they call it different in windsurfing, but in surfing they call this a backside tail slide; from here you can go into a reverse o just put the nose back towards the beach to recover the original position.

The rider in this sequence is Jose Romero.

Knee high (part 1)

Here you have a few more pictures from the freeride session we had this afternoon at Pozo Izquierdo, where the local crew made the most of the mushy knee high waves breaking on the sandbar where I was standing up with my camera (inside de housing, of course), so I did not even had to swim to be where the action was.

More pictures tomorrow.

Windsurfing

Moritz Mauch windsurfing Pozo Izquierdo
Knee high waves, light and gusty wind and clouded sky; but no matter how bad the conditions are, when you have some of the best windsurfers of the world on the water, they can always do something amazing just in front of the camera, like Moritz in the picture above, doing a goiter while half the beach was not even planing.
I'm having dinner now (and maybe watch a movie), but I'll post more pictures later on.

Turning heads

It's not that windsurfing conditions last week were amazing, it's just we are not used to waveriding righthand pointbreaks in light side-offshore wind.

Black & white

Jose Romero windsurfing
Sometimes you can't choose the light you want for a picture, and noon backlight with a little bit of mist, is not what you usually are looking for if you want bright colors, so if I can't wait for better light (we knew the wind wouldn't last till the afternoon), this is one of the situations I like using black and white.

Yesterday, with a long period WS swell and wind from the South, we had such a fun down the line windsurging session just 200m away from Pozo Izquierdo.

Pablito may seem a little bit quiet and shy on land if you don't know him, but once he is on the water, he delivers all his power.
If you want to know more about him, check his blog.

Fisheye

Pablo Killerfish
Starboard 2012 Daida Ruano
I never had a fisheye lens and it's such a werid thing, so I'm having a little bit of practice (and fun) with it shooting my friends on the beach. In the first picture you can see Juan with his Mazinger board shaped by Pablo, the guy in the secon picture, shaper in Pozo Izquierdo, the lovely girl of the last picture is Daida, with a 2012 Starboard.
