Pozo Air Force

Jose Romero windsurfing
Pozo Izquierdo was a little bit crowded today at 9:30 during the improvised shooting we had; some of the best locals were there, great conditions and just friends on the water, so it was good fun, too much fun maybe, for a while they were all jumping over each other, shouting and laughing, I was enjoying the session so much that I even losted a little bit of concentration and I missed a couple of good shots, but there're plenty of nice pictures too, so I'm definitely happy with the session.
The riders were: Julio Franco "Fito", Omar Sanchez, Jose Romero, Aleix Sanllehy, Josep Pons, Pablo Ruiz "Killerfish" and Eleazar Alonso "Ele".
I have a couple of busy days now, but as soon as I can, I'll post all the pictures, a couple of really nice ones, maybe a cover shot from Ele in case a magazine or any of his sponsors are interested.

Fun session

Eleazar Alonso Ele windsurf
Fun windsurfing session this morning in Pozo Izquierdo, with 4,2 and some little waves. After two hours shooting in the water with strong current I was exhausted, so I decided to call the day, but then I had a call from a friend telling me, that the surf was good at the south of the island, so I went surfing for two more hours, now I'm so tired I cant even work on the computer, so I'll post more pictures tomorrow.
By the way, at certain algles, as you can see at Ele's picture, I'm having issues with a reflection or refraction with the sun on the port lens, any ideas so solve it are welcome.

Where's Wally?

Just recovered a CD with old pictures, some of them were impossible to open, but found this little gem, a helicopter shot at the PWA event in Pozo Izquierdo (I don't remember the year), with some classic characters on the beach, such as Robby Naish, John Carter, Jerome Houvet and Antoine Albeau among others.

The kids are growing (2)

I took these pictures two and a half years ago; today it's Moritz's 15th birthday and he is like one head and a half taller than he was when I took the pictures (he was 12) and has a smooth, fluid and really stylish waveriding.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORITZ!

Ivan Zecca

Ivan Zecca windsurfing funI took this picture during the Quatro/Goya photoshoot last summer, it's the kind of picture i absolutely love because it shows the FUN, it shows how much we enjoy windsurfing, but it's the kind of picture the brands end up not using because it's funny, and kind of windsurfing became too serious during the nineties and brands and riders went on to look professional, serious and radical. But at least colors are back, thats a step :)
And talking about colors, look at the picture, Ivan, as the good italian he is, takes care of the look and matches them perfectly, which is always good for the picture.

Darío Ojeda

When you go in the water for a windsurfing photoshoot session with a wide angle, you really have to trust the rider, because he has to do all the stuff close to you, really close if you want to capture all the action, but not as close as landing on you, of course. Darío Ojeda is one of those guys, in the picture he is fliying right over me in perfect control of what he is doing during the Simmer photoshoot last summer (this is one of the shoots which didn't go into the final selection).
If you want to see more pictures from that session, go to Simmerstyle.

The view from Pozo Izquierdo

That was the view this morning, looking at the mountains from Pozo Izquierdo. I guess for most of you is not that strange to see snow in the mountains during the winter, even at the neighbor island of Tenerife, at El Teide, they are used to see snow from time to time, but here, at the South East coast of Gran Canaria, for sure is something special.

The kids are growing

Looks like it was yesterday when I took this picture, but it's not, Alessio is turning 16 today, does some amazing goiters and backloops and is taller than me, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALESSIO!

Discards

After what at the moment has been the worst fall-winter windsurfing session I've ever seen in the Canary Islands, we finally had some nice days at Pozo Izquierdo, and I could finish the photoshoot for Animal with Alessio, Pablo & Moritz. In the picture you can see Moritz in one of the discarded pictures of the session. I guess in a few weeks you will see the pictures at some selected magazines.

Silver Surfer by Killerfish

Pablo "Killefish" just finished a 90 liters quad which will be the delight of his owner for the winter windsurfing conditions in Gran Canaria, with an amazing graphic of one of my favorite superheroes, which of course is Silver Surfer.

For more information you can go to Killerfish.
